Cindy enjoys wrangling disparate pieces of information and putting them in order. She has a knack for quickly and seamlessly adapting to a project and getting the job done well. Growing up around the world gave her a chameleon-like ability to connect with people of all backgrounds. It also gave her an ear for language and an appreciation for the complexities and nuances of English. Cindy is excited about editing for organizations that strengthen health systems and advocate for gender equity.
B efore becoming an editor, Cindy began her career in Washington, DC, where she attended graduate school while working at a global nonprofit organization focused on health and education. She moved to Seattle more than 15 years ago, where she got a job working at another global nonprofit focused on global health, her passion. She began to edit in-house publications and became a lead proofreader on her team. Cindy has a master’s degree in international development studies with a focus on public health from the George Washington University. In 2010 she earned a certificate in editing from the University of Washington and started her own business. In 2016 she happily joined forces with Kyra and Connie at Tandem Editing.
When Cindy is not editing, she’s probably reading books, exploring the great Pacific Northwest, listening to music, or playing games with her family.
